With its gripping and locating groove Form A hollow shank tapers are a preferred type for automatic tool change in machining centers. Manual operation is possible through the access-hole in the taper. Torque is transmitted both positively and non-positively. Well-suited for HPC-operations, as well as for HSC. High-frequency tool holders are all fine balanced to G2.5, 25000rpm ~ 12000 rpm.

HSC-operations only under optimal machining conditions, i.e rigid machines, sufficient coolant supply, rigid workpiece and tool clamping are highly recommended. Depending on the tool, it may be necessary for these maximum speeds to balance the tool holder and the tool together.)
